We're all in this together

This painting called "We're all in this together" was recently auctioned for charity and fetched $1650. It was great fun to create and marks a return to unashamedly bright colour and detail.

Birthdays

This valentine's painting is featured in the window of "Lucy Victoria" florist on the corner of Bridge and Mary Sts here in Toowoomba. It's for sale at $480 and is 1 x 1.2m on canvas.

And this is my lovely Sophia just this morning. She's crawling!

And this is me, exactly 25 years to the day before I got married.

I celebrated my 37th birthday this weekend with family and a couple of friends, and I felt lucky and loved and special. Unexpected and lovely.

Baby Baby

Sophia is just beautiful right now. I'm enjoying every moment. But the ideas are building up and I'm going to get some paint on canvas tomorrow - and I've set up the playpen so we can still see each other while I paint. Wish me luck!

I'm back!

We're back home again now, after a delightful Christmas break, and there are some big changes going on around here.
Firstly, my paintings will be displayed and available through Lucy Victoria florist, Bridge Street, Toowoomba, which means that I won't have to open the studio much while my baby is so young, and my husband is away in Afganistan.
For the first half of this year I'm also concentrating on some commercial projects and commissions that I need to produce art for - a mural, placemats, mugs, linen and other lines, and I have some exciting soft homewares ideas also, and they've all been put on the backburner for far too long while I've been madly making bags and filling the walls of the studio.
I am hoping that the www.shinyhappyart.com website will be up and running soon though (it's been a LONG wait) so Golden Paints and all of my other art and bags will be available through that site as well as www.annabartlett.com .
My computer is off being fixed at the moment also - I feel like I'm missing an arm while I don't have access to it! So when I get it back (hopefully by early next week!) I'll get back to you with photos and other info.

A butterfly themed Christmas table

Here are a couple of pics of the table at my 'staff' Christmas dinner - where we actually planned it all and enjoyed the most delicious salmon meal professionally and lovingly prepared by the amazing Suzanne. I'm finishing the last three bag orders tonight and then that's it! That's all the 'work' that I can do before Christmas. We're off to Sydney on Wednesday til Sunday and Nic and Kym will be opening the studio on Sunday. It'll be Nic's last time before she moves up to Hervey Bay so drop in and say goodbye if you can.
