FINALLY!

Hey! I finally drew a winner for that alstromeria picture that I blogged about here.

It's... drumroll please... MARISSA! Marissa, I think I already have your address here (somewhere), but perhaps email it to me (just to make sure) and I'll pop it in the post.

Thanks everyone!

We have winners!

Firstly, thanks so much to everyone who has left a comment on my Art Tip/Giveaway post over the past two weeks, going in the draw for your choice of two poppy paintings. I loved reading your comments and seeing that people were interested!

Now, because I'm in a good mood - which may have something to do with the fact school went back today, I thought I'd give both paintings away! I planned to draw the first, see which canvas they preferred, then keep drawing more until I landed on someone who preferred the other painting.

As it happened, Cathie from m.e. was the first winner (comment number 6) and preferred the white background.

Then the second number was 22, which is Mrs Woog, who happily preferred black!

Congratulations to both of you! I'll be in touch to get addresses etc.

Thanks again to everyone who left a comment. I have really enjoyed having such enthusiastic participants in my giveaway and will be sure to do it again very soon!

In my mailbox

I've been trying to restrict my blogging this week. Assignments to do and children to mother and all that...

But I've nearly finished this work I'm doing, the babies are sleeping, and I had to share this giveaway prize that arrived in my letterbox yesterday.

It's from sister outlaws and how cool is that? Packaging the whole thing in a real pocket. Love it!

This is what's inside:

It's a terrific idea and I look forward to pulling all the bits out and having a go when I get a moment. I have to confess (and it does feel like a real 'confession' on a crafty blog like this) that I have a serious, intense, complete dislike of buttons (stems from a young age) so might have to figure something else out there.

This is what it may look like when it's done (just without the button, of course).

And I finally saw Julie & Julia a week or so ago, and combined with the fresh eggs from our lovely chickens that I haven't mentioned much lately, and because I don't have a Julia Child cookbook (yet, I've put my order in for Mother's Day) I've referred to my quite posh Delia Smith cookbook and am working on making the perfect poached egg.

Yum. I used to be a solid yolk person, but I'm definitely converted to the deliciousness of a soft yolk now. Superb.

In my mailbox

I won a lovely giveaway last week and here are the prizes that arrived in the mail.

A fancywork pouch, badges and tags from the inspiring Pip from Meet Me At Mikes (the first blog I ever followed) who was 'guest posting' at Bigprint Little, the blog of mega-talented artist, Allison Langton.

Allison has a regular gig illustrating for House and Garden, and included the original Hydrangea illustration that she did for the Nov 09 issue. I watched the progress of this illustration here, and now it's mine :) and will go up on the wall in my office (another artwork with a story - read my last post), next to my gorgeous Gennine prints (which were bought as gifts but I couldn't part with them).

Thank you Allison and Pip, I feel very lucky!

November's Winner & December's Prize

Sometimes it takes a little longer than planned, but I'm delighted to announce the November Mailing List winner is Jo Hicks.

When Jo sends me her address she will be receiving this pack of Golden Acrylics and Art Tags in a handpainted calico gift bag!

This month's prize is a handmade cushion, made from a print of my design 'Angel Pileup' on natural linen and backed with dark blue denim. I just finished making this today, and will post a tutorial on inserting the zip in the back of the cushion later this week. It also gives you a taste of the direction my homewares will be headed in the new year.

So that it's more of a Christmas draw, I'll pick the winner on 20 December. So make sure you are on the mailing list before the 20th so you are in with a chance.

I'll also give you an extra entry if you're on the list and leave a comment or become a follower on my blog before the draw - I'd love to know you're here, so mention that you're a Shiny Happy Art mailing list subscriber in your first comment (on any post), and you'll be in with an extra entry!

Thanks! And good luck!

If you'd like to go in the draw to win this great tablerunner by Thea & Sami, just go to her blog and comment on what you DON'T like about online shopping. It's easy peasy and her screenprinting is lovely jubley. And good for the planet. Nice.
