Angel becomes Tooth Fairy

Late last year, the lovely Kylie from 3 sheets volunteered to test out my Angel Screenprints kit.

And she made one of the little angels more angelic than I could ever have imagined.

Her embroidery is amazing, and then she decided to sew it into a tooth fairy pillow for her goddaughter in Chicago.

Thank you for putting so much time, effort and talent into this project, Kylie!

My sister (who will probably be mortified that I am also posting a pic of what she did with the kit too) used it to sew a delightful cushion for her little girl, coloured with fabric paints and appliqued to some gorgeous fabric. Yours is fantastic too, Lozzie!


I'm sure there are plenty of things you could do with this print, and I'd love to see it when you do - it's $11 and available from here. I've printed it in a couple of other colours too (maybe for t-shirt appliques or bunting?), so will load them to the shop very soon.

My Teatowels are here!

I feel like I've been talking about it for absolutely years, but finally my first batch of screenprinted teatowels have arrived!

They're hand printed on 100% natural linen teatowels measuring 50 x 70cm (nice and big) and I'm really happy with how they turned out. The lovely Thea from Thea & Sami printed them and professionally heatset them for me.

One design is 'In Bloom' printed in spring green, and the other is 'Coffee and Cake' printed in a special lilac. They'll sell for $20 each + postage.

I'm finalising packaging now, while I add to my www.shinyhappyart.com website which is so close to going live.

So it's all systems go now! It's going to be a busy week.

Creative Procrastinating

This is what I was doing last Tuesday night, instead of bookkeeping. I printed the pink fabric and then made it into a prototype bag - which is now Sophia's gear bag - and did a few tshirts to match. So many plans still to try!

Screenprinting - the next idea

My friend, Belinda, and I had a great day at Thea Samios' screenprinting workshop a couple of weeks ago! I've now done a few simple prints at home, and Thea and I have plans to work together on a few new projects. Watch this space! I also met the lovely and talented Angela from Cowboys and Cupcakes. A great way to spend the day, and Bin and I were able to talk about marketing and babies like we used to!
