Here's what you've missed

Now, I've moved my blog over to my domain name, but honestly, it's feeling a bit lonely over there.

So if you haven't changed my link in your reader or in your favourites, come on over now and check out what you've been missing... there's the free downloadable candy cane paper (above). And ...

there's Emergency Cookies...

Christmas Stockings sewn from scraps and denim...

And a quite ridiculous wreath that started with chopsticks...

You'd better come visit. Or I'll send the heavies around.

(Perhaps we're all heavies around here because one spoon is never enough.)

New block paintings

These original paintings are my first on 16mm boards - painted on the sides and back, with a spot for the nail/hanger to fit in - super easy to post and not break! Painted by me in top quality artists acrylics (love my Golden paints!) and varnished.

I can post them directly to you, or wrap and post them to your special someone.

The top three have a page from a vintage "Heidi" book collaged in the background and measure 20 x 25cm and are $55 each.

The bottom six are all original little angels, on boards measuring a sweet 16 x 20cm and are $33 each.

If you can picture the perfect place in your home, or know of someone who'd love a piece of original art in their home, just click here and you're set.

My laptop is in getting fixed at the moment, so I look forward to getting back in swing of blogging as soon as I get it back. I'm trying to be very good on the food front, so not much baking going on (unless you count the choc slice for tuckshop and the hummingbird cakes for lunchboxes I guess). But I have been sewing and have four special children lined up to make softies of their choice as a Christmas Holiday treat. First up will be Josh's 'Mr Skelly' - he's flat right now, but I'll post as soon as he's plumped up a little!

UPDATE - Top right panel now sold!

New Kit Coming

Here is a sneak peek of a new screenprinted kit that will soon be listed in the shop.

I have made these little angels up as coloured hanging softies, but really, the idea is that you can make them up in any way you wish - you can paint them, stitch them, applique them, bead them, laminate them... It's up to you.

And once they're made, they can adorn your home, your Christmas Tree, be given as 'girlfriend gifts', all sorts of things really.

I've drawn them all individually, but they can be paired up as 3 front/backs as they are almost mirror images.

What I am looking for is two keen crafters to each take one of my panels and do with it what they wish and send me photos. I will send them some extra goodies for their trouble, as well as their fresh-off-the-screen panel.

Just leave me a comment and let me know what you'd plan to do with it - don't worry about being too detailed, I'm just keen to see two different applications, ie, beading and stitching, not both stitching, if you know what I mean. I'll put this call up on the Meet Me At Mike's forum too, then make the call on Thursday night (8 Oct) and send the fabric out on Friday.

Looking forward to gauging the interest!

October Mailing List Prize

This is the October prize for the Mailing List draw on my Shiny Happy Art site. It's a purse-sized pink notebook, beautifully accessoried with an Art Tag. A unique item well worth winning.
We've got quite a few new products being added at the moment, and they're all limited edition or one-offs, so if you're on the list you'll be notified first. Come on over and see...

We have a winner

In a very technologically sound way (writing out names, tearing up the strips, putting in a bowl, shaking up, closing eyes and picking out the lucky name), I've just drawn the first Shiny Happy Art mailing list draw.

And the winner is Jennifer E. from http://jenmeisterswaps.blogspot.com/ who subscribed to my mailing list earlier this month.

Congratulations Jen! When I receive your address your prize will be in the mail.

I've got another prize planned for October, so please visit my site and join the mailing list asap. I've got new products planned for Christmas and will be adding bookplates and new Art Tags later tonight.

Thanks again for all that have already joined, and who are now in the draw for next month.
