My Creative Space - painterly
This is my favourite painting that I've done for the Downlands Art Show this year. It's a little one, just 30cm square, and was the last one I did. Of course now I'm in 'the zone' I've got no more time (or babysitting) so hopefully I'll be able to find 'it' again to do some more art for the upcoming Carnival of Flowers exhibition, and a Pinktober charity event after that.
Here is a pic of my beautiful studio assistants (although perhaps 'assist' shouldn't have been in their titles)
and the other paintings I finished just in time (these were all 30cm square also) -
and of course, this one which was 60cm square -
There's a bit of shine there, from the light hitting the canvas.
All in all I'm so glad to have submitted something. It was probably the most difficult it has ever been to find the time and inclination to paint, but now that B has turned one, I've definitely felt something shift and a few more things are becoming possible again.
Now I just hope something sells!

Anna your paintings are beautiful. I love the painting of the apron.
ReplyDeleteWell you did it Now don't stop while your mojo is on. The bird seems to be a winner going by the comments so maybe some more of those for your made- it space! I like the Anna one, thinking about taking her arms off after just one more 30cm painting....
ReplyDeleteHow nice to stumble upon another painter in my creative space. Good on you for being able to get back into it with a one year old, I wasn’t able to even contemplate it until my little guy was two, but now that I am back in the swing I am loving it. I really like the carousel and the little bird. Good luck at the show.

They are fabulous. You can't stop now ... there's a spare wall at GoMA waiting for your work, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd tell people, if they don't buy your work ... they have to babysit my lot for an afternoon ... that'll have them forking out the dough.
I really love that bird too... and love how daisies popped up in many of the artworks! best wishes for the show!
ReplyDeleteColourfully brilliant, as usual! Do I spot a self-portrait among them? Thanks for the well-wishes for Melbourne too. x
ReplyDeleteI really love your bird painting - it's beautiful. Wow, looks like you've been super busy! Love your little assistants too!
ReplyDeleteO Anna they're all stunningly gorgeous. Your use of colour is fantastic - oh so vibrant and vivid. To describe your art as beautiful and fresh just doesn't seem enough. Your bird painting is oh so lovely ... but my favourite is the apron. There is something about the perspective - a mother perhaps as she is seen by her child - that really engages me. Good luck with show and getting in the zone.
ReplyDeleteDear Anna, I love the bird with a flower. You have captured the wild innocent in its eyes. Every other painting was good. And that horses, needless to say, they are amazing. Keep your wonderful work going..
ReplyDeleteI am heading to the Carnival of Flowers this year so I will look out for your paintings. There is something really honest about them - gorgeous!
